Meet the Whitney Collective: A Mother & Daughter Duo
Hello, I’m Amy Whitney.
I was inspired to paint as a child living in South Africa. The rugged landscapes, wildlife, violent storms, and raw colors left a lasting impression on me, which are still part of my work. My love of the arts continued to grow after I moved to the United States. I studied at Penn State University and went on to become an art instructor at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
In 2001, I moved to the North Atlanta area where I exhibited my paintings, worked on large murals, helped with church stage design and continued teaching. I had the privilege of traveling to Holguin and Santa Clara, Cuba, in 2017 and 2018 with the Vine Community Church. There I worked on joint projects with Cuban artists and was able to mentor university students.
In 2019, I moved to North Carolina. I currently live in Cary where I have my art studio. I am currently accepting new mural and art commissions.
Hey there! I’m Corinne.
I’m a Pittsburgh native who landed in Georgia in 2001. Thanks to growing up in a creative family, I've been making art for as long as I can remember. I spent some time at the Art Institute of Los Angeles, but eventually, I felt that pursuing a marketing degree aligned more with my goals for sharing my art with the world. Now, I'm finishing my degree at Kennesaw State University.
My work blends the organic with the ethereal, capturing the beauty of nature in acrylic and watercolor. Whether it's the fine details of botanicals and wildlife or the dreamlike abstraction of landscapes, I love playing with rich textures, moody atmospheres, and the balance between chaos and control.
